With a Masters degree in Art Education, I had the unique opportunity to create an art program in a NYC Public School. My interest in found object collages emanated from that period of time. The Arts budget in NYC was limited, and I had to be resourceful. Fast forward to 6 years ago, when I became fascinated by the debris on streets in cities around the world. I started collecting site specific detritus and reformulating the pieces into found object collages. I have been interviewed twice (Spectrum 1 and Voice of America), exhibited in Palm Beach. W. Palm Beach, Tequesta and New York City. My collages continue to evolve as I’ve taken photographs of the locations where I’m collecting and then used the photo as my collage backdrop. My collections reflect what our society disposes of in irresponsible ways and gives me the opportunity to highlight these objects in both figuartive and abstract images.
