Abby Toca

Abby Toca works as a ceramicist, sculptor, and illustrator in West Palm Beach, Florida. The inspiration behind her work comes from highlighting her inner child by exploring joyous memories drawn from youth. Through the use of a meticulously curated color palette, she seeks to convey a childlike nature within her work by incorporating soft pastel tones that evoke a sense of comfort. The overarching theme of her work lends itself to the lens of fantasy, whimsy, and playfulness. A prominent goal of hers is to encourage individuals to immerse themselves by interacting with the work emotionally. She intends for her work to resonate with others, allowing them to reminisce in their own childhood with a sense of vulnerability in mind. She often reflects on the materiality of objects derived from her adolescence and challenges the idea of converting those very items into archival forms, predominantly through the medium of ceramics.
