I am a self taught artist. I attended law school after college, got married, raised a family, spent many years in private, government and solo practice before retiring, and then six more years as an assessment specialist for an adult literacy organization. During this time, I thought frequently about getting back to art, which has been a life long interest of mine and in which I had dipped my toe several times only to be called away by other demands in my life. When I began working as an assessment specialist, I had more time and began taking studio art classes at my local community college, which had an excellent art program. I learned a great deal and began working with other artists in watercolor and acrylics. I also began to have success entering my works into various art shows. I have been painting ever since. I continue to focus on watercolor and acrylics as my mediums, and my subjects are landscapes, abstract botanicals, still life and abstracts. Vibrant color is the connecting thread through all my paintings. Color can communicate so much and I try to use it to convey emotions or moods to the viewer. My work has been juried into shows in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, West Virginia and Florida
