Andrea Facusse is a Honduran self-taught expressionist artist that blends multiple genres of visual art to produce interesting combinations of images, materials, and textures. Each artwork is inspired by the multiplicity of her life experiences and her surroundings. Andrea’s artwork is not repetitive, instead she focuses on artwork that is spontaneous, instinctive, and unplanned; one that connects to her audience. To Andrea, artistry is meditation that allows her to communicate beyond the social pressures of the world.

The themes of her paintings are about the invisible, emotional connection between humans and nature. The rhythmic markings on the canvas represent the variation of plants and flowers, rain and flowing water, and other objects found in nature. The intense hues of color invites the spectator to project their emotions on the narrative presented before them. The colorful background and composition creates a visual movement and brings the paintings to life. Andrea believes color has the power to bring joy, magic, and inspiration into peoples homes and hearts and because of this, art has become an essential part of her life.

Andrea has exhibited widely throughout Florida and is a former Artist Resident at the Arts Warehouse in Delray Beach. Through her work, Facusse seeks to challenge traditional narratives of femininity and beauty while fostering dialogue around strength, self-definition, and human connection.
