Ann Eisenberg Friedlander received her first oil paints at age six. She has continued to paint since that time.

In drawing classes at Parsons School of Design Friedlander learned a disciplined and thoughtful approach to the figure. She studied the means and methods of medieval painting. The understanding of perspective, deep space, and economy of line along with the techniques of glazing formed her foundation.

Today, Friedlander begins by creating a shape that resonates with her. Her understanding of where this will take her does not emerge fully from one painting. She paints a series that allows creative exploration . After any number of new works she is known to find a different shape , and create new compositions. Simplicity, boldness and clarity characterize her work.

Friedlander’s work has been exhibited in a few museums, at the Cultural Council , at local shows in South Florida as well as in National and International venues. She is not affiliated with a gallery and you can see her work at her home studio if you call . She would enjoy hearing from you.
