Arlet Gomez is a Cuban artist based in South Florida, whose vibrant and evocative paintings bridge the emotional immediacy of neo-expressionism with the luminosity of impressionistic color. A graduate of the University of the Arts, Havana (ISA, 2009), Gómez’s work explores memory, migration, and the fragments of childhood as spaces of transformation. Her layered compositions, textured surfaces, and radiant contrasts evoke the tension between innocence and awareness, belonging and becoming.
Her paintings have been exhibited internationally across more than ten countries and have earned numerous distinctions, including the Award of Merit at “The Best of the Best” 2025 Annual Juried Exhibition at the A.E. Backus Museum, the Masterful Mind Award at the 6th International CFA Artist of the Year (2024), 2nd Place at the TRAHC 36th Juried Exhibition, 1st Prize at HMVC Gallery New York (2023), and an Award in Painting at the ArtiGras Fine Art Festival (2023). Additional recognitions include the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce Award (2023), Palm Beach County Art in Public Places “Outside the Box” Prize (2021), the International Prize for Painting ISOLE in Italy (2011), and First Prize in Contemporary Art from Portugal’s Exteril Foundation (2008).
