Barbara J. Ziev

Barbara is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist based in South Florida whose work emerges from an ongoing journey of curiosity, intuition, and fearless experimentation. Her practice is rooted in self-discovery, allowing each piece to evolve organically as she explores new materials, processes, and visual languages.

Working across acrylics, oils, collage, mixed media, and encaustic techniques, Barbara creates richly layered compositions that blur the line between abstraction and representation. She is particularly drawn to assemblage and the poetic potential of found objects, weaving paper collage and textured surfaces into her paintings to create depth, complexity, and tactile intrigue.
