Artist Bobbin Biography:
As a child Bobbin created with pencils and crayons. Today Bobbin paints with Professional Watercolor paints. She still uses all mediums, even crayons, but her love for the vibrancy of this watercolor medium can be seen in her work. It was in high school when she began to show her skills. They are evident in her HS yearbook and the Levittown, School District #5 Annual calendar for the year 1966. She was accepted into Nassau Community College due to her art, where she went on to win numerous art awards.
As her life continued, she fell in love and had 5 children, moved to Florida (from her childhood home of New York) settled into raising her children, which left little time for her Art. Not to say, she wasn’t called upon to be the creative mom, Girl and Boy Scouts, after school art teacher, or anywhere else she was needed. It wasn’t until she divorced, remarried, and went back into the workforce and her nest became empty did she realize she was missing something.
Working in the retail world was not inspiring, but every vacation, or out of town for a few days brought renewed interest, as she always packed her paints. This became part of her ritual, checking out all the local art Galleries, and painting on location, and with her love of the ocean and nature, those subjects frequently pop up in her subject matter.

This became part of her ritual, checking out all the local art Galleries, and painting on location, and with her love of the ocean and nature, those subjects frequently pop up in her subject matter.
Bobbin needed her art and the ART world needed Bobbin, she just didn’t know it. As a shy person lacking self-worth it was hard for her to get back into the art world. She enrolled in some local Art Societies, finally took the first step, and began her new journey. It was a small step that led to many more small steps, which evolved into bigger steps. Bobbin started to sell her work, enter shows, join other art societies, and even set up a tent in her local community art festivals. As a result, Bobbin became more confident and began the next chapter in her life with Bobbinsartwork. As a member of the Wellington Art Society, she became the 2nd VP for a two-year position where she started to see many other Artists and their struggles, it was then she realized she was not alone. Many Artists have great talent but are afraid to use it or even show it. This little seed started to grow, and she started teaching, first to friends, and family, then she was asked by the local art gallery owner if she could teach watercolor. She said “Yes” and the seed bloomed.
As her life continued, one of her 5 children moved out of state, and she began traveling more. She was determined to continue teaching and traveling, but how could she do this? Her students didn’t want her out of town and missing teaching the class. She started to see an online career beginning. Unfortunately, she had no idea about the technical aspects of web design. But she was not giving up, slowly she took tutorials, and built a website, she did accept help when needed, but she is very proud of her accomplishments. Then COVID 19 started and everyone was in self-quarantine, so getting this school of watercolor classes became first priority.
RecolorYourWorld.com was launched! Bobbin is now entering online shows, connecting her Art with other Art communities, working on a secret project of illustrations, and completing her Book series of Silly Selma, as she continues to create her Art. As Covid restrictions are lifted. She will continue traveling and setting up workshops in fabulous destinations.
