Born and raised in Costa Rica, I grew up admiring my mother’s stained glass creations. What began as fascination quickly became a passion when I started experimenting with her scrap glass. Through trial and error, I taught myself the art of mosaic transforming broken fragments into expressive works of art.
After moving to Florida in 2000, I took a creative pause while raising my son and designing and sewing handbags as a stay-at-home mom. In 2008, I made a significant career shift and began working as a criminal defense paralegal. Throughout that time, mosaics remained my sanctuary, my meditation and creative escape from the structure of the legal world.
Nature is my greatest inspiration. I am drawn to vibrant color palettes, organic textures, and the interplay of light across glass surfaces. I primarily work with glass, beads, precious stones, porcelain, and ceramic. I believe mosaics have no rules any material, shape, or surface can become a canvas.
From 2018 to 2020, I served as President of the Wellington Art Society, supporting and advocating for local artists while helping expand community engagement in the arts. I am also the Founder and Executive Director of Arts for Smiles, an organization dedicated to bringing joy and relief through the arts to individuals facing adversity, with a primary focus on children.
My work celebrates transformation proving that broken pieces, when thoughtfully assembled, can become something unexpectedly beautiful.
