My abstract art develops from images emerging during the painting process. I may start by suggesting natural forms, but once I begin painting, I rely on intuition to create something new and unique. I apply paint quickly and freely, exploring color, shape, texture and mark. My interest is in the excitement of motion and discovery.

For landscape painting I may begin plein air or with a photo I have taken. I start by loosely sketching in natural forms, but once I begin painting, I rely on intuition, imagination and memory to create a mood or an impression of time or place.
