Skip has occupied the same
warehouse studio on Georgia Avenue where he has worked for the last 35 years.
From 2003 to 2014 he was an adjunct professor of art at Palm Beach State
College in Lake Worth. He is currently teaching Mixed Media Painting once a
week at the Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach where he has taught since
1987.
Skip works mostly with traditional
and contemporary painting mediums while continually experimenting with a
variety of 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional, and illusionistic combinations. He
often employs an airbrush that he first picked up in the 70’s when he was
painting large “Photorealist” images on canvas. Recently he has been using discarded metal, paper and plastic objects for mark-making that he integrates with thick and thin spontaneous brush work.
