Popping Eyes in an Urban Jungle, 2024
The patterns and colors of nature have entranced me since childhood. I discovered the magic and attraction of butterfly wings through the lens of a kaleidoscopic and was drawn to the wonders of nature as pollinators are to the allure of flowers. In my work I aim to explore the sensory perceptions of pollinators through their eyes. I consider their interactions with flowers and ability to communicate through a “dance language” to convey flight paths, enhance their ability to forage efficiently, and seek sanctuary even in urban areas. The pollinators’ behavior is part of an interconnected system and symbiotic relationship with all life forms. This balance and unity transcends the apparent chaos of the web of existence and connects to the cosmic symphony of the metamorphic life cycle and beyond.
