Designer, Art Director, Illustrator, Fine Artist
I am a product of The New York Art Students League (a very short but sweet stint), Boston University Fine & Applied Arts and my own ability to create art and visualize and translate ideas. I spent most of my working life in the creative departments of several large New York City Advertising agencies as an art director and art supervisor on national products both in print and television before opening my own creative service. Like many art directors, freelancing was a major part of my work life. I created artwork and illustrations for The New York Times, packaging illustrations for Dannon Yogurt, Dixie cups and Plates, Nestles Foods, Harcourt Brace children’s educational learning workbooks, Wilkinson children’s educational learning workbooks, Golden Books and more.
I enjoy the challenges of creating artwork that suit my attitudes. I feel art should be enjoyed and not taken too seriously. There is a light feeling in much of my work, prime examples: My Outer Space Series, my Jazz Series and my artwork picturing common objects dominating the art space showing how ordinary can be interesting. Most of my work is created in pastel, watercolor, acrylic and house paint, colored pencil and pencil and 3 dimension assembly.
Medium: Pencil, Pastel, Paint (Water Color & Acrylics) and a sense of humor.
College Attended: Boston University Graduate
Art Director/Art Supervisor: William Esty Advertising, Grey Advertising, Cunningham & Walsh A ... view more »
