I am propelled to be a constant maker. I became a dentist to be able to work with my hands and support my “habit”.
I like to experiment with weaving together of materials of all sorts. Bead weaving possessed me for many years. Before long, while I had to make the looms to complete the projects. Then pursuit of materials to make the looms propelled me to haunt hardware stores and scrap yards. There were many objects with broken motors whose parts became armatures that I used to weave and crochet objects.
There is an abundance of circular parts that emerge from the machines that I disassemble. The round form relates to life in many ways: the world spins, seasons, the life cycle, the wheel, motors and engines propel us in many ways.
Most recently I have begun to translating iconic Silk Road patterns into relief paintings.
