I am thrilled to announce that Georgia-based Fall Line Press will soon publish a new volume of my photographs, DIRT FRESH! The title speaks to that exhilarating feeling of beginners’ mind, exploring and learning about the world and myself, from the ground up! It’s an unshakable enthusiasm for the photographic medium that drives my joy of discovering the extraordinary in unexpected moments and places!
Photography has been transformative in my life, helping me move from living in my head—detached by early trauma—to more fully sensing and experiencing reality. DIRT FRESH will cover a lot of ground, from the last twenty years of work in color. In 2025 I am celebrating 50 years using my camera as a tool for recovery, amplifying my gratitude and well-being, while reveling in the simple pleasures and humor of color, form, place, and human gesture without over-intellectualizing. It’s a deeply personal pursuit and if I my photographs do even a small part of that for you, that’s an incredible bonus!
I am a street/documentary photographer! I have completed several self-assigned and publicly funded art projects. In 2013 the international widely popular Lens-Culture featured my AMERICOLOR book series on their website as part their favorite portfolios that year. My photographs have appeared in hard copy and online in France, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Italy, Russia, and the USA. Also, my photographs appear very prominently in an important photographic art history book, Bystander, A History of Street Photography. I am currently involved in my fourth year of photographing US Highway 41 in Florida. The road, The Tamiami Trail, from Tampa to Miami, is the first road through the delicate eco-system of swamplands that we now call The Everglades. I am a seasoned documentarian available to record your significant and or historic event or property to convey a record to posterity.
