Deon was born in Ohio, but for the past six years has lived in South Florida enjoying the beaches and its laid-back vibe. Deon works as a journalist, painter, and designer. Deon has worked in the bridal industry for over eight years. He began working as a bridal stylist for Alfred Angelo. His efforts granted him the opportunity to be a featured employee on the Emmy award-winning reality tv show “Undercover Boss” and a job in the design department under the stewardship of chief creative officer, Michele Piccione. Deon also was the head designer for bridal company “Gather and Gowns”. His work has been seen at New York Bridal Fashion Week, in Trends Wedding Magazine, “Out and About” Southwest Florida, Upscale Magazine, and VEU Magazine. Deon worked as a contributing creative director for the 2019 Randy Fenoli silver springs collection and styled 90’s dance icon, CeCe Peniston.
Deon holds a BA in Communications/Broadcast Media from Central State University. He has written for a number of publications over the course of ten years. After college, Deon wrote for The Dayton Black Weekly and The Dayton City Paper. While in Ohio, he interviewed celebs like Will Downing, India Arie, and Hip Hop Legend MC Lyte. Upon his move to Florida, he had the opportunity to write for publications like South Florida Music Magazine, South Florida Gay News, The Westside Gazette, and Discover the Palm Beaches.

As a multi-dimensional artist, Deon has exhibited his abstract creations in several art galleries in South Florida. He uses acrylic paint as his chosen medium. Since bridal design is in his background, color and shape are two of his biggest inspirations. Artists like Jackson Polluck, Keith Harring, Odili Donald Odita, and Jean Michel Basquiat have all inspired him artistically. Deon loves to use palettes knives, painter’s tape, and interior paint in his work. Deon has exhibited in a number of galleries like The Arts Garage, The Arts Warehouse, The Box Gallery, The Pride Center in Fort Lauderdale, The Coffee District, and The Cultural Council for Palm Beach County. In 2021, Deon put his love for fashion and art together by receiving a grant to host an “Express Yourself” Fashion Art Ball. Over 120 artists submitted artwork inspired by mental health, and there was also a fashion show.
