Eran Stone was born in Nyack, New
York in 1976 and shortly after moved with his “hippy” artist parents to Santa
Fe, New Mexico. From a young age he has lived a life with the creative forces.
His father was educated as a stone sculptor and his mother practiced many
different art forms such as fiber arts, painting and music. Eran started his
art studies at a very early age with his primary medium being watercolors, he began
casting bronze sculptures by age six and sold his first piece at age seven. His
art education and practice has continued throughout his life having worked in several
art studios, as an assistant, creating his own works, showing his work at
several gallery’s, art shows, and being formally educated in fine art, interior
design, motion picture production and currently studying architecture and urban
design at Palm Beach State College/Florida Atlantic University. Eran is also heavily involved in
aviation, being an airline transport rated pilot, flight instructor and
aircraft mechanic. For Eran, the creation of art is a great escape from the
rigidness of aviation. The current focus of Eran’s fine art practice is what he
labels as “neon stone art”, these pieces are abstract geometric forms made from
translucent Italian alabaster and illuminated with colored neon gas tubes.
