throughout much of Europe where my ancestors included the Dutch, Portuguese and
Spaniards from the Celtic Fringes of Spain.
There were organists, pianists, wind
players, composers, sculptors, carvers and painters whose work included
decorative works that included large murals to small portraits, and ornamental
sculptures to hand carved chess sets.
Music has always been an especially

mother continued her artistic pursuits in the United States as a commercial
artist in order to survive alone with her daughters in a new world, and
continued to create personal art pieces when time allowed. As a largely single
mother, I too tried to carve out time for creativity while raising three
daughters, a mission I considered paramount to all else.
Surprised by my remarkable success
despite the humble environment and limited experiences I was able to afford for
my daughters, I decided to document my success in a small book I self-published
as a labor of love before continuing any other project, hoping to inspire other
parents to use these simple acts during their own parenting journey.
After my retirement, I have now found
time to play piano, write, and create works of art that bring me joy and
reflection.
I studied oil painting very briefly,
and have now added acrylic as a medium in the creation of small shadow boxes
which include small rock canvases I collect during my runs on the beach. I
create these using a magnifying lamp and very small brushes, and am inspired by
the natural world; which we as humans continue to disregard and an integral and
necessary part of our existence.
