Irina Grimaldi is a botanical artist based in South
Florida, working in a realist style primarily in watercolor and oil. In each
painting, she combines botanical accuracy with a sense of liveliness,
translating the beauty of flowers and plants from life to paper or canvas. Her
current body of work explores the timeless elegance of botanical subjects
through both traditional watercolor techniques and richly textured oil
paintings. Irina holds a BA in
Art History from SUNY Stony Brook and a Certificate in Botanical Illustration
from the New York Botanical Garden. She is a member of the American Society of
Botanical Artists and an award-winning exhibitor in regional museums and
galleries. Recent honors include
Third Place and the People’s Choice Award at the 2025 Cultural Council Biennial for her mango
and avocado paintings, and Second Place at Paintbrush Hearts for her
rose portrait Love’s Promise. Her work has been
featured in Mirror, Mirror: Celebrating Women in the Arts at the Cornell
Art Museum and in the Best of the Best exhibition at the A.E. Backus
Museum.
