I work in abstraction because I’m more interested in paying attention than explaining things. My paintings are built in layers—marks added, taken away, changed, and sometimes completely ignored. The surface keeps track of all of it: time, movement, second thoughts, and the occasional good decision.
I grew up in New England, where water is everywhere and never really behaves. That sense of motion, reflection, and not quite settling down still shows up in my work, even when there’s no obvious landscape in sight. These days I live in Delray Beach, Florida—same water influence, just with better light and fewer sweaters.
The paintings borrow the rhythm more than the view. They’re abstract wall pieces meant to live with you—modern, layered, and a little unpredictable. Kind of like the coast. Or life.
