“Celebrating Everything Coastal”
JerilynBrown is a Florida-based visual artist whose surreal leaning transparent watercolor paintings embody the coastal environment, especially seashells. They transverse the connectedness between nature, humanity, and spirit. Brown’s paintings have been featured in solo and group exhibitions, including Lighthouse ArtCenter, Ormond Memorial Art Museum, and Society of the Four Arts. Her work is included in private and corporate collections including Town of Jupiter and The Gardens. She has presented solo exhibitions including Windows of Light, Tidal Motions, and Watercolor by Jerilyn Brown. She was also awarded a residency at Wildacres Retreat.
She spent more than three decades in arts education and cultural programming, earning recognition as Florida Art Education Association’s Secondary Art Educator of the Year. As an art administrator she managed all aspects of an art school, summer art camps, developed museum tours and interpretive materials and many other projects. Brown has also curated exhibitions at the Cornell Museum of Art, ArtServe, and Boynton Beach Cultural Art Center Gallery.
She currently works full time in her art studio and teaches watercolor at the Armory Art Center. Most recently Brown exhibited her watercolors at the 23rd Annual Palm Beach Show and had her artwork published in The Art of Saltwater coffee table book. Brown’s background and her ongoing engagement with the coastal landscape continues to inspire her work.
