For me,
Nature photography is a necessity. To be out in the natural world among the
mountains, trees and lakes the way Nature has arranged them is surely one of
life’s most satisfying moments. Simply being in these
wonderfully ethereal places is nourishing to both mind and soul.
The natural
world that surrounds us fills me with awe. The grace of Nature’s architecture
can never be replicated by man, no matter how hard he may try. The ability to
articulate the beauty and the very essence of Nature and experiences in
photographs and express them as art is a true blessing and a gift that I must
share with others.
I seek to
express each timeless moment with its tug of the past and pull of the future;
to put these ingredients into two dimensional photographs capable of evoking
within the viewer a sense of being there at that singular, never to be repeated
moment.
Photographs
can express a great deal. They allow us to share beauty; the incomparable,
exquisite and unparalleled beauty of Nature. A still image can capture a
timeless moment, an instant unlike any other in the past and one that will
never come again. A cloud, a beam of light, a rainbow; all are unique. All are
fleeting. My goal is to capture such special moments and not let them get away.
I strive to
capture the very best of Nature’s beauty from all around the world. During this
effort, I have become the only person to photograph each and every one of

I strive to
capture the very best of Nature’s beauty from all around the world. During this
effort, I have become the only person to photograph each and every one of
America’s 62 National Parks with medium format cameras. This heavy equipment
produces photographs with a far greater depth and unique dimension that is just
not possible with conventional cameras.
This project
has taken several years and been accomplished with the use of numerous boats,
kayaks, rafts, horses, mules, bicycles, tiny airplanes and many pairs of hiking
boots. During the same period, my travels have taken me to some of the most
beautiful and fascinating places all across North and South America and the
Middle East.
Images from
many of these very special places are available online at www.JerryGinsberg.com
The majority
of these are shown in brilliant color. Recently I have re-discovered the
classic beauty and power of Black & White and have included some of these
as well.
Many of
these photographs have appeared on ABC TV and in print in Smithsonian, Arizona
Highways, Backpacker, Sierra Club, National Parks, Outdoor Photographer and
hundreds of other magazines, books and travel catalogs.
It gives me
great pleasure to share a very few of these here for your enjoyment. To see
many, many more please visit me online at www.JerryGinsberg.com
