Kimberly Heise

Heise received her BFA in painting from FAU in 2014 and has been living and working in Palm Beach county for 8 years. She specializes on painting Florida native plants and animals in watercolor, capturing the species with scientific accuracy in order to accurately represent them. Her goal is to raise awareness for local species so that they may be better protected.

Most of Heise’s work begins with a focus on environmental conservation, from endangered species endemic to Miami, to native plant gardens that support pollinators in South Florida. Her interests see her painting everything from bees to pine trees to panthers. She is fascinated by the almost infinite diversity that can be found in the habitats that surround us, especially those which often go unnoticed. Her goal is to celebrate this beauty and raise awareness of all that there is to protect and cherish right outside our door.

Heise’s work has shown throughout South and Central Florida, and she has partnered and continues to partner with many Florida and nationally-based conservation organizations.
