From realistic to representational to abstract, my
artworks are a delightful marriage of contemporary design with a reverence for
the techniques of the past. My overall
approach for my artwork is to beautify and surprise. My technique of combining various
media such as digital photography, painting, hand stitched fiber thread, and
beading – exclusive to my creative process, results in artworks that engage the
viewer. My unique style and multiple
techniques yield images that both surprise and please the viewers as a 2-D
image appears to be 3-D. The hand crafted detail of my original work invites the viewer into an intimate experience as the details are best seen up close.

The public arena allows me to introduce SCALE as an
essential and integral part of the work I create allowing the intricate detail
of my mixed media pieces to become a surrealistic and surprisingly fun
encounter. Thoughtful artwork, executed
masterfully through imagery and materials, that considers the space where it
will live and the community that will be experiencing it, is what public art is
intended to do. I subscribe to this most
basic function of the role of public art and therefore it is with collaborative
communication, research, and meticulous execution and installation that a space
is enhanced by artwork.

Regardless
of the size, my combination of image, technique, and materials is distinctive
and causes people to talk about what they are seeing because there is nothing
like it.
