A former columnist for BestofArtists.com and the Indian River Art News, she was West Palm Beach Fine Arts Examiner for Examiner.com and published close to two hundred articles about the art community. In 2014 she wrote, illustrated, and published The Story of Daphne the Duck, a children’s picture book. Though primarily an impressionistic landscape painter who loves creating art, showing, and selling her work, she gets equal pleasure writing about and promoting the artists and art establishments that make up the fabulous art scene in Palm Beach County.
Maxine sees beauty everywhere and loves to recreate what she sees by painting landscapes. The lush flora of Florida particularly inspires her, but she also enjoys illustrating her travels to other places. Her goal is to express what she feels in a particular place at a moment in time. Many experiences have motivated her to paint “collage style” works, which depict several images of the same place on a single canvas. Her intention is to use art to lift spirits and inspire dreams. Though oil on canvas is her primary medium, she also enjoys watercolor, collage, and photography.
