ARTISTIC PERSPECTIVE
My artistic goal is to create seductive surfaces and provocative forms that involve the audience in a visual adventure. The inspiration for my abstract imagery comes from everywhere. I find when sketching, shapes appear that remind me of experiences, objects, and places I’ve seen.
As a fine artist painter and sculpture, I experiment with different materials always expanding the boundaries of my art. My vessels are continuous paintings on natural gourds. As the piece is rotated there are variations of images so the owner can choose the composition to be displayed and therefore becomes part of the creative process.
The development of the forms, use of color and the structure of compositions are original and are solely from my imagination. I invite the viewer to respond to the emotional qualities within the work as they identify references and make them concrete in a story of their own.
