Nancy Tilles

Nancy Tilles is an award winning artist and teacher, well known for her paintings and portraits.

“The Pandemic greatly changed the direction of my painting. I chose to focus on my first love, painting from life. Making sense of the chaos in nature was the challenge. The extra benefit of painting outside was being able to meet and befriend other artists and interact with the public.

During that time, I began working on a series of trees that often contain hidden figures. I have been fascinated with the large ficus and banyan trees that populate South Florida. The organic shapes remind me of the human form.”

Nancy’s work has appeared at art festivals throughout Floridas. Her portraits are held privately and appear publicly in HCA Florida JFK Hospital and Boca Rio Golf Course. Originally from New York, Nancy earned her BFA from the University of Miami. She resides in the City of Atlantis.

If you are interested in learning how to paint or improving your painting skills, Nancy offers private and group lessons at several locations. She teaches oil and acrylic painting at the Armory Art Center, the City of Palm Beach Gardens and Easel Art Supply in Lake Park.
