I have captured several intimate scenarios that I’ve personally experienced growing up in Florida. My paintings depict emotionally strong moments of time. They always utilize the format of traditional painting with my personal experiences. I love exploiting the tension between abstract and representation. This is achieved with an by utilizing an aggressive approach to color. This allows me to energize the viewer with expressionistic performance. My intention is to enable the viewer to experience the elements that make up the painting rather than focusing on the narrative alone. My most recent work has taken the more abstract approach, incorporating the thrill of auto racing within the act of creation. By physically placing myself in the actual environment, I am not just painting a scenes, but embodying the experience, making the art even more personal and immersive.
