Artist’s Statement – Paul Guirguis
I am Paul Guirguis — a creative force shaped by Austrian precision, Egyptian soul, Brazilian rhythm, French Québécois elegance, and American 🇺🇸 spirit.  I live and paint with a truly global vision.
The night I witnessed the Sydney Opera House come alive on its grand opening, Art first seized me completely. It isn’t quiet decoration — it’s lightning in the veins, an emotional surge that captures the soul and refuses to let go.
Trained in oils under the royal portrait master Ralph Wolfe (R.W,) Cowan, I had the thrill of painting Presidents, first ladies, Queens, Popes, and international icons. I mastered the luminous secrets of Venetian murals, antique chalks, Gold gilding, lacquers, and even fine restoration — techniques that make every canvas breathe, glow, and endure for generations.
When the muse strikes, pure ecstatic energy surges through me. The canvas comes alive beneath my hands in that lightning-strike joy — “It’s alive!” — the greatest creative high I know.
My greatest joys in life are the love of art, and the art of love.
