Quimetta Perle

Quimetta Perle is an interdisciplinary artist. She earned a BFA from Minneapolis College of Art & Design, and an MFA from the School of Visual Arts in digital art. She was an active member of WARM Gallery, a women’s collective in Minneapolis, 1979-84. The 1980s brought solo shows at WARM, Glen Hanson Gallery and showings at the Minnesota Museum and Minneapolis Institute of Art. Following a collaborative project with NY Feminist Art Program, she moved to New York and began showing with Political Art Documentation/Distribution. Perle performed “Conversations With the Dead” at Franklin Furnace. She has collaborated with many jazz and spoken work artists on numerous multi media performances with projections. The recipient of a grant from Women’s Studio Workshop, Harvestworks commissioned her to collaborate on a groundbreaking digitally distributed performance in 2000, The Madman and the Technophobe. She has had numerous solo shows in the US, most recently at the Arts Warehouse in Delray Beach, Florida. Her mixed media work is in numerous private collections, and can also be seen at Carter Burden Gallery in New York City. She divides her time between Brooklyn and Delray Beach.
