Venezuelan / U.S. Citizen · Multidisciplinary Artist · Based in Miami, FL
Rafael Montilla (b. 1957) is a Venezuelan-born, Miami-based multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans performance, sculpture, photography, digital media, and conceptual installation. Known for his emblematic performance, Kube Man: We Are One with the Universe, Montilla explores themes of interconnectedness, collective consciousness, and the geometric structures that shape human perception.
Working across visual art and philosophical inquiry, Montilla uses the cube as a universal symbol—an archetype of order, harmony, and the invisible systems that organize both nature and society. His performances and visual works investigate unity, equality, and the shared energetic field that binds individuals to the greater cosmos.
Montilla’s artistic language combines social engagement with a strong geometric vocabulary, merging minimal form with participatory and experiential elements. His ongoing projects and public interventions aim to generate dialogue around identity, humanity, and the evolving relationship between people and their environments.
He currently lives and works in Miami, where he continues to develop multidisciplinary projects, publish Art Miami Magazine, and collaborate with institutions, artists, and cultural organizations across South Florida and beyond.
