I am originally (and always) from Brooklyn, lived in New
Jersey for over 30 years and recently became a resident of Lake Worth Beach.

Art is and has been central to my thought process throughout
my life and in the mid 80’s I minored in art at Brooklyn College where I
studied with Murray Israel, Sam Gelber, Ron Mehlman and Bob D’Allesandro.

My work has ranged from painting on canvas,
wood/ceramic/sand sculpture and for many years gouache on paper, which is my main focus due
to it being the perfect medium for my expression.

The abstract pieces I create are inspired by simplicity,
repetition, graffiti, industrial, deco, mayan and asian art, music and sub-atomic
physics. All of these different influences are related in that they each
validate that each person is “equally unequal”, which is the thread that
connects my work. As the images and
strokes become more repetitive, the distinctions become increasingly subtle and
more challenging to observe and the focus of the work is shifted to observing and enjoying the variances between
similarities. A reminder to take the time to recognize and
enjoy each person’s uniqueness.

Whether painting or sculpting, creating art is an
opportunity for each person to tell their own story. Although creating art has always been an
important, yet personal, part of my life, in 2022 I had a solo show at the
Outlander Gallery in Jersey City. A review of the show can be found at:
