Sade Bowens

Hello! My name
is Sade also known as SADESOSUBLIME.

I have always
been attracted to art & quickly realized that creating serves as an emotional
& spiritual release for myself. Art made me feel like no other subject exposed
to me through school ever did & from that realization my passion grew immensely.
I was introduced to glass mosaics in a high school ceramic course & was
taught a non-traditional way of mosaic-making. Hammer to glass instead of using
glass nippers; this small change of process opened a new world of uniqueness
& the breaking of glass with hammer is quite therapeutic!

Completing a
beautiful 1/1 piece out of what was recently a dangerous mess of glass became a
transformation I fell in love with. My skills & concepts have evolved with
each piece & I’m excited for the new ones to come.

I enjoy the
openness of abstract painting using acrylic. I emphasize color, shapes, emotions
& layers to create images that leave the meaning up to the viewer’s
perspective. I have also found Live Painting to be a great resource to pick up on fresh energy of life & it gives me confidence to explore new techniques without overthinking the outcome.
