Sammi McLean was born in Miami, Florida, and lives and works in Boynton Beach, Florida. McLean received her Masters in Fine Arts in Studio Art from Florida Atlantic University in 2017 with a concentration in Printmaking. McLean investigates drawing, photography, and collage through a printmaker’s lens. Selected Solo/Two Person exhibitions include “Reactive Objects” at IS Projects in Fort Lauderdale, Florida (2017), and “If I can’t see you from here” at Hollywood Art and Culture Center in Hollywood, Florida (2019). Selected group exhibitions include “Expanding Printmaking: South Florida Artist-Run Presses” at The Schmidt Gallery in Boca Raton, FL (2021), “Arboreal” at Bailey Contemporary in Pompano Beach, Florida (2019), and “Holding Pattern” at the Fritz Gallery in Palm Beach, FL (2019). McLean received the Exhibiting Artist Residency at IS Projects (2018), The Friedland Project Grant (2017), and the Esther Saylor Rothenberger Fellowship (2014-2017).

In addition to her studio practice, Mclean curates group exhibitions, portfolio exchanges, and has taught at many prominent South Florida arts institutions including Dreyfoos School of the Arts, Florida Atlantic University, Norton Museum of Art, Institute of Contemporary Art in Miami, Society of the Four Arts, Armory Art Center, and Saint Andrew’s School ... view more »
