I am a self taught Contemporary Expressionist Painter who during the Pandemic took a different route to express my artistic energy.

I repurposed cardboard into sustainable art sculpture on canvas.

My passion and appreciation for all things living became heightened during the Pandemic and my work honors the ecological sacrifices made for human convenience.

The pandemic raised the frequency of home deliveries to unprecedented levels which disturbed me seeing the amount of used and discarded cardboard choking our already overwhelmed waste management systems.

My love and appreciation of nature, and specific to this project, trees, and the many roles they play in our lives contrasted by this unceremonious abandonment of what were once beautiful, oxygen-exhaling, living matter urged me to consider what could I create?

In the Boca Magazine August 5,2020 article by John Thomason about my sculptures wrote “…..echoes , to some, of dogu haniwa, the ritualistic clay protectors dating back to the third-century Japan.”

Without realizing ….I was creating Protectors and/or Guardians for our time.

Grassroot Gallery at Arts Garage in Delray Beach featured twelve of my pieces in the Gratitude Exhibition November and December 2020.
