Suzanne Barton

• A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Suzanne’s affinity for water and childhood passion for photography spawned her Underwater Fine Art
  Series. Although self-taught, Suzanne’s work drew the attention of renowned
  portrait photographer Willie L. Hill, who mentored her in the art and became
  her teacher, friend, critic, and remains a steadfast supporter.Suzanne’s first foray into the depth and serenity of the
  underwater world is showcased in Suzanne’s elegant, ethereal, Tiny Dancer and Mythical Maidens/Mermaids, Underwater Art Series.

Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines commissioned two of Suzanne’s
underwater fine art pieces for their newest Oasis Class ship, Harmony of the
Seas. The pieces are a permanent part of the Onboard International Art
Collection, seen in over 250 ports.Suzanne’s art graces galleries in Charleston,SC., St. Petersburg,FL, Cincinnati, OH, West Palm, FL,
and Fort Lauderdale,
FL. Her art has graced 12 galleries, 150 plus juried exhibitions, 10 solo exhibitions, featured in 13 publications,and garnered 10 awards.

Each extensive,
underwater session includes careful editing along with creative, artistic
embellishments to bring the images to life. Suzanne’s mixed media
pieces incorporate acrylics,alcohol inks ,painting and pastels on canvas that she has designed
and created.

Suzanne envisions her artwork as an integral part of healing
centers and being used for charitable causes, such as bringing fresh drinking
water to areas in need and advancing awareness to the importance of protecting
this vital, life giving resource. Suzanne shares her time and talents with many
charities. The fight against cancer, along with children, animal and family
charities are near and dear to her heart.

sensation suspended in
the essence of life,
where art and artist blur and merge,
until it is simply impossible,
utterly undesirable,
to determine where one begins
or the other ends
in a world so ancient that
ever retains genesis
as I float and dance,
twist and turn
with no thought
to what comes next,
lost in the moment,
found in the next.
