Vicki Siegel

Vicki Siegel is a contemporary
artist whose mixed media paintings and photography explore the connection
between memory and reality. Siegel
grew up in both New York City and Chicago. Vicki
worked as an art director and later, creative director in advertising in Milan,
Chicago, and S. Florida. Siegel is a full-time working artist, with a studio in
Delray Beach, Florida. Her work is widely exhibited and collected.

In her mixed media paintings, Vicki Siegel
aims to create a new reality through the combination of painting and
photography. The photographic eye records and the hand responds with paint and
marks uniquely her own. Using portraiture, the figure, flora, architectural
elements and pattern, her colorful works reflect a narrative of our
relationship with ourselves and with nature. Her work highlights the strength
and beauty of women and men as much as it does her passion for preserving the
environment. By combining painting and photography together, she creates images that unite a fascination with the world around her and an obsession with the physicality of paint. Blending the two art forms is a process that results in images that are both real and imaginary.
