My work confronts the void not as emptiness, but as a site of becoming. Through painting and welded steel sculpture, I resist nihilism by insisting on presence, process, and meaning made by hand. I am trained as a mechanical engineer by education and an artist at the soul level. This duality informs how I approach material, structure, and intuition, allowing rigor and vulnerability to coexist in the work. Across mediums, I work intuitively yet deliberately, allowing gesture, erasure, and construction to remain visible. The void, in this context, is not a negation but a threshold where faith, doubt, femininity, masculinity, and memory coexist. My practice is an act of reclamation: of materials, of identity, and of meaning itself. I make work as a refusal to disappear. — Wanita Dixon
