Discover an approach that will strengthen your confidence and help you paint virtually any subject. During this inspiring two-day workshop, nationally recognized artist Chris Kling will demonstrate techniques for creating expressive landscapes and seascapes while guiding participants through her proven painting process.
The workshop begins with a materials review followed by a live landscape demonstration. After lunch, participants will work from their own printed landscape photographs, applying the techniques presented during the morning session. The second day features a seascape demonstration before participants create a painting from a personally meaningful seascape, river, or lake reference photo. Each day concludes with a constructive group critique.
Oil paints are preferred, but water-soluble oils, acrylics, and pastels are also welcome. A basic working knowledge of your chosen medium is recommended, making this workshop ideal for intermediate to advanced artists.
Participants will receive Chris’s recommended supply list upon registration. While her preferred materials are provided, artists are welcome to work with the supplies and tools they are most comfortable using. Please note that printed reference photos are required, as phones and other small screens are not suitable for this workshop.
Artists who wish to spend both days developing a single subject are welcome to do so.
